July 18, 2010 marked the beginning of Team XXXchurch as we completed the Vineman 70.3 half Ironman Triathlon. Many months ago the idea was fresh and untested - would it work for a organization battling porn to break into the endurance world to raise funding and awareness? Absolutely YES! This last week our team, made up primarily of men who had no previous connection to the ministry,...

I was running late. Driving from street to street lost in my frantic attempt to find the location of my porn house call. Waiting for me was a 16 year old boy, his mom, Dad, and older sister listening in from upstairs. I finally arrived for our porn conversation and was greeted with warm cookies, brownies, coffee, and I suppose anything else his mom could find. His Mom and Dad were very excited...

I was having lunch with my tech guy today and he asked me what I thought about "chatroulette." Honestly, I had never heard of it and so he told me a what it was. This new website allows for you to meet multiple people at random through web cams. You simply push "play again" and you will be connected with another person somewhere in the world. When connected you can audibly speak with them or...

Sitting in my office and listening to the pain of others seems to be a regular occurrence these days. People are struggling. Be encouraged by a fresh start. I have found it funny that over the last couple of days I have been thinking about who I want to be in 2010. It seems like my mind will not stop processing 2009 and making daily commitments to new beginnings. The reason why I have found this obsession funny is that with God and His grace I have a new beginning each and every day of the year. Maybe it would make...

I was having lunch with a pastor friend of mine the other day and he was sharing his story about his struggle with pornography. I was not surprised by his confession. I actually smiled and thought about the potential impact on our churches if more Pastors commitment to being real and transparent. Then he shared with me the responses he received from other pastors as he shared his story. I was...

All of us have moments in our lives where we were changed. These moments mold us, adjust our outlook on life, and change life’s purpose in an instance. One of those moments for me was the birth of my children. I thought I understood the female anatomy until I experienced my child’s grand entrance into the world. I know it much better now! Each birthing experience was different but there was...
