Shellie R. Warren
Shellie R. Warren is into all things covenant. Her first love of writing has afforded her the opportunity to write for well over 50 publications including the recent book release, "Purity's Big Payoff/Premarital Sex Is a Big Rip-off". Shellie has authored two published books: "Inside of Me: Lessons of Lust, Love and Redemption" ('04) and "Pure Heart: A Woman's Guide to Sexual Integrity" ('10). She is also the teen mom director for the local chapter of a national non-profit in Nashville, a premarital/marriage counselor and a doula. Shellie also has an online ministry. http://onfirefastmovement.blogspot.com/ is for single women who desire to be prepared for marital covenant. She recently developed a T-shirt line (PerezLinen) centering around these themes and is in the process of premiering "Reluctant Celebrities"---a (somewhat) atypical platform for modern-day discipleship.

First of all, let me say "thanks" to everyone who has written in. I think I am going to like this "Q&A" format a lot more because I don't know about you, but for years, as I was battling with certain areas of my sexuality, I was getting lectured to and preached at (plenty), but no one was really answering my deepest questions and concerns. I feel comfortable speaking for everyone at X3Church...
DIRK'S STATEMENT:Is porn grounded in lust? yeah. News Flash! Men like sex. Women like attention. O.k. So maybe we should try giving to each other instead of just demanding what we want. Men, give some gentle attention to your wives. Women, give some hot, steamy sex to your men. The one thing that the women of porn provide is that they ALWAYS look like they WANT to have sex. Men like that....
I know, right?
It's been almost two months since I've penned anything in the Butterflies blog and yes, I've missed you. To be honest, there was just so much going on in the latter part of the year in my own life that I needed to take some time to get myself together.
You see, while I was sharing with you revelations about porn, sex, lust, love, relationships, and what I believe God...
Last week, I received this question:
"[I have a friend who] suspects her husband has dealt with pornography and possibly adultery for their entire marriage (many years). In the last few months they have been going to a very well-known Christian counselor in their area. Today she voiced her concerns to this male counselor about her husbands possible adultery and the pornography.
The...
“I'm not saying that I have this all together, that I have it made. But I am well on my way, reaching out for Christ, who has so wondrously reached out for me. Friends, don't get me wrong: By no means do I count myself an expert in all of this, but I've got my eye on the goal, where God is beckoning us onward—to Jesus. I'm off and running, and I'm not turning back. So let's keep...
“If anyone imagines that he has come to know and understand much [of divine things, without love], he does not yet perceive and recognize and understand as strongly and clearly, nor has he become as intimately acquainted with anything as he ought or as is necessary. But if one loves God truly [with affectionate reverence, prompt obedience, and grateful recognition of His blessing], he is...
I will be the first one to say that if you are looking to live your life "on the down low" (and in this case, I mean away from people that you don't want contacting you), My Space is the last place you need to be! Just last week, I was contacted by two people that I haven't spoken to in shoot, at least 15 years.
On the flip side, if you're nosey, it's a great place to find out about your...
Janiro Hawkins II doesn’t even know I’m about to shout him out like this, but I think men (especially black men) don’t receive enough praise so…Janiro, get over it!
Last month, I went to his birthday party and he shared with me that aside from the other million jobs that he has (a full-time, Platinum Bound, the SEAs, the magazine, etc.) that he was taking up...
This is a happy day for me, ya'll!
Although it's still in need of some fine tuning, I wanted to let everyone know that the website for "my (creative)Â baby" is up.Â
Earlier this year, God woke me up with the idea to create an organization for women who consider themselves to be survivors of sexual abuse and sexual misuse. It's called, Butterfly Angel and the name came from a...
OK,
I don't know if I will ever share a story quite as bizarre as this, so take advantage of it while you can.
This weekend, I went to see a childhood friend of mine to catch up on his life and to meet his (to me) new family. After we exchanged some hugs, courtesies and light chit-chat, my friend told me that he wanted me to check out a manuscript that his friend, my first real kiss,...
