Shellie R. Warren
Shellie R. Warren is into all things covenant. Her first love of writing has afforded her the opportunity to write for well over 50 publications including the recent book release, "Purity's Big Payoff/Premarital Sex Is a Big Rip-off". Shellie has authored two published books: "Inside of Me: Lessons of Lust, Love and Redemption" ('04) and "Pure Heart: A Woman's Guide to Sexual Integrity" ('10). She is also the teen mom director for the local chapter of a national non-profit in Nashville, a premarital/marriage counselor and a doula. Shellie also has an online ministry. http://onfirefastmovement.blogspot.com/ is for single women who desire to be prepared for marital covenant. She recently developed a T-shirt line (PerezLinen) centering around these themes and is in the process of premiering "Reluctant Celebrities"---a (somewhat) atypical platform for modern-day discipleship.

So...
On the top of sex and married folks, here are some things that I recently read:
According to one article: "...on average, married couples have sex 66 times a year, or a little more than once a week, according to the 2005 General Social Survey conducted by the National Opinion Research Center...Frequency of sex for married couples varies by age: Couples 18 to 29 are friskiest, reporting...
Over the weekend...
I went to go see The Masters (Joaquin Phoenix, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Amy Adams). Now, those folks *can act*, no doubt about it. However, there was this one scene with women *in all of their glory* parading around a house and I thought "OK...and what is the point of this scene exactly?" That question, later on, was followed up with this thought: "I'm pretty sure that if it...
Last night...
I read an article with this title: "Father Recommends Porn to His Son". Here's an excerpt:
A father found porn on his 13-year-old son’s computer. After seeing the sites, he gave the boy this advice: Seek better porn sites. This rings of cheap humor, but the story is true. It was featured on the front page of Reddit, a social networking site where members post stories and vote on...
Have you ever read something that has you so irritated that it's almost funny?
While I had planned to pen something else today, a news story entitled "Free Porn Videos to Hit Xbox 360 Following Internet Explorer Update" caused me to put the other thing on hold. I mean, what in the *world* is *this* foolishness right here:
"An imminent Xbox 360 update will see free porn videos brought to the...
So...
I have this motto that I kind go by: "Sin in senseless." It reminds me to remember the fact that the Message Version of Proverbs 3 talks about how *important* common sense is.
That said...
I read an article that was published this week that listed eight reasons for why, according to the author anyway, premarital sex is good for people and society as a whole. I'll say this before I even...
OK...
I know that I'm showing my age (38) just a bit when I ask this, but does anyone remember ths commercial:
With all of these rehab shows over the years, it would appear that "scrambled egg brains" do not bother us as much as this commercial wanted it to (SMH).
Anyway, this is what I thought about when I read an article entitled, "Five Bizarre Effects That Sex Has on the Brain"....
OK...
This week kinda wore me out on the porn news tip.
There's Kanye West who is allegedly in a porn tape with a chick who looks *just like* (she really does) his current girlfriend. Let's not even get deep into the fact that he claims that he used to watch Kim Kardashian's sex tape with another guy for his viewing pleasure with other women (or the fact that he brags about it in one of his...
They do say that men and women differ in basically every way and perhaps when the Bible says that when two people are in covenant to "become one" (Genesis 2:24-25), we forget to put sex into the mix; that when a man and a woman are joined, even physically, it takes a while to figure out what makes one another "click".
I thought about that as I was reading an article about how men and women...
So...
I was reading two articles just now that caused me to wonder "Do Christian women have a healthy view of sex?" I mean, like...*really*?
One is entitled, "Porn for Women Is Here to Stay" Here are a couple of excerpts:
"Women consuming porn is still news; and that is, I suspect, because it is still deeply ingrained in our cultural psyche that men like sex and women, well, lie back and think...
In the midst of doing some research the other day...
I happened upon the website TheMarriageBed.com (a site for Christian couples) and on it, there was a feature entitled "Solo Masturbation in Marriage". Here is some of the data that they provided on the subject matter:
84% of the men that they surveyed said that they masturbated within the last three months. More specifically:
About one in...
