What is the latest Internet craze that could expose your kids to inappropriate content? Do you know? As a parent it can be kind of difficult to stay up on what is going on online. And it can change so fast that if someone gave you a manual, it’d probably be outdated in month.

That doesn’t mean you can just give up. Your kids’ minds and future are at stake. Fortunately the tool that can bring...

In a recent attempt to improve my diet, I ventured into the produce aisle and bought some whole carrots. I like crunchy things and figured carrots could replace some of my cracker/chip intake. It’s working out pretty well. And while I may look somewhat ridiculous and Buggs-esque munching on the things, they’ve served as a pretty strong spiritual metaphor that I’m excited to share with you.

OK. Let's see what we've got this week...

1) Let's start with some good news. It would appear that Google, BT are going ot be proactive (although honestly, it seems pretty reactive) to the overwhelming issue concerning child porn on the internet. I'll be curious to see what they come up with. (Independent).

2) Did you know that 46.6 of all women masturbate? "Thanks" (cough) to a "song" by...

We don’t care for our hearts near enough.

…and that’s true in a number of ways.

I think it’s clear enough to all of us that our physical hearts are inescapably affected by the kinds of food we put in our mouths.  Unfortunately, it’s also clear enough why heart disease currently holds the title of number one killer.

Perhaps equally as clear – and perhaps equally as often ignored – is the state...

When it comes to porn it’s sometimes a bad idea to run away. To run away from what’s keeping you hooked. To run from the pain in your life that is being kept hidden. To run from the very people who could help you through.

Then there are the times when running is the best thing you can do.

The times when backing off is the best way to move forward.

These are the times that we need to flee...

Part of the pace of our culture today involves capturing moments of our lives—whether in word or deed—to share with the rest of our worlds via Twitter, Instagram, Facebook and other social media platforms.  Our kids want to share their lives and connect with other lives in this way too, and the teens and tweens that I work with are constantly stopping mid-sentence and mid-stride to text and...

“Confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The earnest prayer of a righteous person has great power and produces wonderful results.” – James 5:16

So one of my topics for this month is “Sharing Your Struggles With Another Person,” and in this blog I want to take a quick look at what it means to really get down and get real with someone. We need to be...

I realize the title of this blog can cause some men to sweat bullets; the idea of talking to your wife about your sexual struggles may even make you nauseous.  I understand. Early on in our healing process I watched my husband stumble through confessions with nervous embarrassment and a pale face as he was unsure of what the outcome would be.  But I'm here to offer you some encouragement and...

Sharing the fact that you struggle with porn is about as fun as walking into a police station and informing the first officer you see that you have unpaid parking tickets.

Nobody wants to do that.

The feeling is one of shame and discomfort.

However, if you were to show up at the police station with your unpaid parking tickets but you had the cash to pay them off you might be unhappy about your...

Before I even start, I feel the need to say this as a sidebar:
Due to lack of grace & freedom still in the church in places, many ssa strugglers do not feel they can be open about their struggle. Therefore, where can they go for honest, relational, godly encouragement? As a church goer for decades, and involved in past leadership, I just want to say, if that is your issue, on behalf of the...
