I’m a Guy Who Uses Porn

Online Resources, Support, and Community for Those Struggling
with Porn and Sexual Integrity

Welcome to the club. You are not alone, and we’re really, really proud of you for admitting that you use porn.

Have you been hiding your porn use? If so, you probably know firsthand the depression, futility, and stress that come along with keeping something like this to yourself. It can be absolutely exhausting living the double life of the secret porn user, so hopefully you’ll take that first step out of your secret life and into the freedom that comes from living an open life.

Basic Advice

Are you married or in a serious relationship?

You need to let your wife/girlfriend know what’s been going on, and for how long. This probably will not be easy, and it will likely make a few waves in your relationship, but you owe it to her to let her into this part of your world. This is an intimate side of you, a part of you that is keyed directly into your sexuality, and as such it’s not something you should keep from your spouse or from someone you’re in a serious relationship with.

Let’s put it this way: this is a secret you won’t be able to keep from them forever and at some point in your relationship, they’ll learn about your porn use. So how do you want them to find out? Do you want to be the one to tell them, openly and honestly, or do you want them to discover it some other way? Which way do you think will speed the restoration of your relationship?

Have you been open about watching porn? If so, we want to congratulate you on having enough self-confidence not to hide that particular aspect of your life. We are all for living an open life, for understanding who you are, and for making no apologies for that. However, we would like to suggest that maybe using porn isn’t the best thing for you.

We believe that pornography warps your mindset, placing far too much emphasis on sexuality and subtly changing the ways you look at the world – especially the women of the world. We believe porn has mostly negatives and hardly any positives, and we’ve seen this borne out in the conversations we’ve had over the years with porn addicts, casual porn users, and people in the porn industry, from filmmakers to the actors and actresses.

Are you worried that you might be addicted? Has your casual porn usage turned a little less casual and more habitual? Find out by taking our addiction test.
