Frequently Asked Questions.
I’ve grown up in the church my entire life. I’ve spent my entire life believing that sex before marriage was sinful. It didn’t matter that it wasn’t adultery (implying marriage). I always thought that sex in any context outside of the covenant of marriage was wrong because God created it to be shared with the support of marriage, to be united in one flesh. This viewpoint has been supported my entire life and I was taught this when I went to bible school just this past year. But recently, while browsing on XXX Church I found a lot of people stating that premarital sex isn’t biblically wrong. Some even say that it is recommended! These people say that the Bible (and thus God) never speaks a word against premarital sex. And now in my life, I’m in my first ever relationship and while my mind really wants to have sex and follow this new standard, my heart sticks to the old, “conservative”, teachings of it being sinful. So, is premarital sex sinful? and why?
Pre marital sex is as sin. The reason being is that sex is meant for a husband and wife, it is a great gift that God gives them to enjoy and like you said creat a special bond. Sex out of wedlock is just lust, nothing else. You stated all the right points in your question here.
I help lead a high school group of all young men and they asked about masterbating last night (big surprise.lol). I gave them my opion and referred them to some various scriptures and insight, then this morning I came across Due 23:9-14 which kind of blew me away. Is Moses saying masterbating is okay? Or is this the same type of verse in which Jesuse says Moses permitted divorce because of their harden hearts? Yes, this is the law I am readng, however I never heard a sermon on this before. lol! How is one to interpet this in light of the New Testimate? Just wondering if you ever had anyone approach this text in Due 23? Thanks for your input. Tom
9-11 and 12-14 talk about two separate things here.
9-11 is talking about t man having nocturnal emissions (wet dream). He is to be separated from the camp until the evening when they felt he was clean again.
12-14 is talking about when a person needs to use the restroom. The law said to dig a hole go in there and cover it up so that the Lord would not step into it.
This is not telling men to set up a place to masturbate. Like you said this was the old covenant with the law and we live in the new covenant now. Hope this helped.
I’ve been struggling sence I was 11. Now (17) I found XXXchurch. And it’s really helped. I know everyone says I need a accoundibily partner but I don’t know who to ask. My dad doesn’t live at home. And I’m too ashamed to talk to my pastor about it. I have one friend (who is married) and was thinking about asking him but I think it would be really awkward. Any suggestions on how to ask him?? Thank you so much. Please pray for me. Love in Christ Ben Harris P.S I don’t have x3 watch on my ipod so I couldn’t send him the email (thing). Can’t afford it 😛
When will it not be ackward? This is not a fun thing to do but, it is something that you need to do. If you really want to be free from this sin you will need to step up to the plate and do this.
I would suggest talking to your friend and your youth pastor. Trust me your youth pastor has heard this before and will be able to help you to a road of recovery. Please know that you are not alone in this ans that we will be praying for you.
