How do I stopping doing even though I know its wrong are there any strategies that can help me to stay true to God and leave my wicked desires?

I would recommend reading through the mens and student’s blogs on the XXXchurch website. They are written from guys like you who have been where you are.

While I don’t think there is any magic strategy to make urges disappear–I do believe that you can overcome this with self control that will come about through discipline. Accountability is a key that we often talk about that helps to unlock the door to freedom. I would recommend that you read Craig’s new book OPEN on what accountability should look like and why it is so important not only for those struggling but for every believer to live a godly life.

What’s the point?

Sometimes when I’m tempted to go look up porn, I stay strong and come out the other side clean. Other times, I think, “What’s the point in not doing this? Why does it really matter?” and go watch porn anyways. As a 17 year old girl, I know no one my own age (and is also a girl) who is currently going through this. Of course, my accountability partners on x3watch will know, but I also know that they’ll love me anyways because we’ve had conversations about my slip ups before. But something in my mentality hasn’t changed, something in me is still thinking like the sex addict I am.

Will I go to Hell?

I have been a porn addict for about 4 years now. I have accepted Jesus as my savior and have asked fro forgiveness countless times. However, I am terrified I will got hell for my sins. I have let God down everytime I have asked for forgiveness and then watched porn again. I have taken steps to stopping my addiction once and for all. Will I be forgiven? I do accept Jesus as my Lord and Savior and I truly am sorry. I truly want forgiveness and am trying to get better.

None of us are every going to walk PERFECT in this world. ALL of us will fall short. If you are truly repentant and turning from your sin AND doing all you can to expose it and walk in the light then I know God will continue to give you grace and strength.

Be sure though that you are following the steps to break free. You need accountability and to remove the stumbling blocks that would enable you to continue in habitual sin. God will help you with this but you need to be willing to lay it all down.

God knows your heart and HIS Word says He will remove our sin as far as the east is from the west!!
