Restoring the trust in my marriage was not an easy journey especially since I have had trust issues for most of my life.  Honestly, at one point I completely gave up and believed it was impossible to restore the trust in my marriage.  However, God’s word taught me that NOTHING is impossible with Him.  Once I latched onto this Truth and God’s Word, He began a transformation in me.

It was not an easy transformation and I had to do some work.  The first step I had to take was to let go and let God have complete control of my husband and my marriage.  I had to release all my fears, doubts and worries to Him and trust that He will take care of me even if my husband chooses to break the trust in our marriage.  Deuteronomy 31:6 says, “Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the LORD your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.”  Once I let go and let God, I realized that even if my husband were to return to his old behaviors, God was with me.  God would protect me and walk with me through any circumstance.  Isn’t it wonderful that He is the one in control?  Allowing Him to control our lives, our husband’s lives and our marriage can lead to rebuilding trust in a broken marriage.

I’m not saying the journey is easy because that would be a lie.  For me, I had to simply take every day, moment by moment.  I had to choose to trust God and He eventually taught me how to trust my husband.  So wives, I challenge you, take the first step and trust God with your husband and your marriage.  Taking this step can enable you to begin your process of rebuilding trust in your marriage.  Please know that it’s not a fast process and one that may have to be repeated when setbacks occur.  However, if you take the first step, God can do a transformation in your life!
