Remember when you were a kid and someone asked the question that you loved to answer: “What do you want to be when you grow up? Answer: Astronauts, professional basketball player, actress, an accountant like my dad…I wanted to be marine biologist because I went to Sea World and I just wanted to hang out with Free Willy all day…

You dreamed of doing something great when you young. As we grow up our dreams become more realistic and tame. Sometimes our dreams fade and die. I do not think that “I want to be when I grow…” ever completely goes away.

One of the greatest lies is saying “when I….”

“When I am done with school I will…or when I get married I will…, or when I get a real job I will…” and many times it is dealing with some type of struggle. “I will stop looking at porn when I am done with college.” “I will stop looking at porn when I date someone.” “I will stop masturbating when I get married.” The list of excuses goes on….

I believe that your struggles and secrets are holding you back from the great things that God wants you do in your life right now. The “I want to be an astronaut” things…”

Your junk weather it is porn, alcohol, going too with your gf or bf, and dare I say Facebook addiction, is holding you back from your dreams that are deep in heart. Your time and energy is being hijacked by junk. God wants to do great things with you. He wants you to join with him in putting this world back together and bringing hope to places and people that so little hope.

So much of our time and energy is is spent on things that drain the life out of us. The addictions, your struggle, your sin it all takes time and energy from the great things that God wants to do with you right now and in the future.

Check out what Paul says about giving yourself fully to the great things God wants you to join with Him on…

56The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. 57But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

58Therefore,
my dear brothers, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give
yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your
labor in the Lord is not in vain. (1 Cor 15 The Message)
