I have never seen a flag that big before. This morning I was speaking at William
Jessup University in Rocklin, CA. Turns out Laura Bush, the first lady, is
speaking tonight at a rally for the republican party at the university. I walked
on the stage, told the crowd that Laura is doing well and is really excited
about the rally and I heard it was going to be a little rowdy. Turns out Laura
had not arrived yet and we did not talk but it is fun to say I spoke before
her in front of a cool flag. Before you know it, I might even register to vote.

First lady due for campaigns

First lady Laura Bush will arrive in Rocklin Thursday to campaign for Rep.
John Doolittle, R-Roseville, in his bid for a ninth congressional term against
retired Air Force Lt. Col. Charlie Brown.

The first lady is scheduled to speak at a 5 p.m. rally sponsored by the California
Republican Party at Rocklin’s William Jessup University.

On Friday morning, the first lady is due to travel to Pleasanton to appear
at a campaign event for Rep. Richard Pombo, R-Tracy, according to Pombo’s campaign
spokesman.

President Bush also stumped for Pombo and Doolittle, coming to Northern California
in early October to help the two incumbents raise campaign cash.
