If you had asked me when I was teenager if I wanted to be a pastor when I “grew up” I most likely would have laughed and said something on the order of “[Insert explicative] no.” I mean the idea would have seemed ridiculous to me. Of course, equally ridiculous would have been the notion that my frequent viewing of pornogrpahy had started me down the path of a nearly twenty year porn addiction. An addiction I’d eventually carry into my marriage. Both things would have seemed extremely unlikely. Both happened.
Often I sit back amazed at how my life has radically changed within just a few years. My marriage has reached new levels and I wake up every day feeling like I have purpose. I can’t express the gratitude I feel knowing I get to work for an organization like XXXchurch, an organization that helped change my life and my marriage. Of course, this all wouldn’t be if I were still addicted to porn.
I’d still be in a job I didn’t like.
I’d still have a sub-par marriage.
I’d still be a mediocre father.
I’d still be doing nothing that meant anything.
Understand this video doesn’t tell you everything about my journey, but it does give you a pretty accurate detail of my story. A story that took me from porn addict to pastor.
