Meet Mardye McDoye also known as Mardye Mar. Recently Mardye approached us with a new song and video he released called “Porn.” Relatively straightforward name but it got my attention.
It turns out that Mardye has a pretty interesting story. Like many young men he got caught up with porn at a very young age. Seven to be exact. Mardye told me that his porn use increased over the years and in the end left him mentally, spiritually, and physically wrecked. It wasn’t until 2012 that Mardye finally found freedom from his struggle.
Mardye is now married and doing what he loves to do best … making music. He wrote this song because he believes that God will use it to speak to people. That his story can in fact inspire others to change their stories. That his freedom will help others find their freedom and their purpose.
Mardye sees porn for what it is. He told me, “Porn is not just a little sin. That’s what the enemy wants you to think – that it’s just something minor. Porn is a false advertisement for what sex is ‘supposed to be like.'” I hope you enjoy this video and recognize the wisdom in what Mardye says. Porn isn’t just a little thing.
