Remember those three young, old testament dudes with the funny names: Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego?  You know, the guys who got thrown in what would be the equivalent of a giant, wood-fire pizza oven – and LIVED to tell about it!  If this story doesn’t ring a bell, check it out in the book of Daniel (Holy Bible).  It’s a dandy.

What’s also a dandy-of-a-story is the tale of XXXchurch.com – a modern day Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego – who’s been invited to live and dwell among the people of Nebuchadnezzar’s court (i.e. the porn industry and its porn conventions, brothel houses, the Vegas strip, etc.).  And like those three young dudes of long ago, the dudes & dudette’s of XXXchurch.com have entered in to the King’s Court (the porn industry) to bring light and love in a dark place – all without having to partake in “the king’s trappings” (the porn itself).

Like many church goers who’ve been introduced to XXXchurch.com, there’s an initial shock that sounds something like: “Wait a minute, they can do that?… Jesus loves porn stars, are you kidding me?… What’s a perfectly good group of Christians doing at a such a filthy event like a porn convention?… How can you rationally choose to live and dwell among such lost and vile pagans as those found in the porn industry?”  Yet, the folks asking these questions are the same ones who grew up applauding the story of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego – three God-fearing fellas who were called to love & witness in a very dark and pagan place.  Jesus also had some thoughts on this topic (Mark 2:17).

Is it true that these Bible stories of old – like the story of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego – are actually being retold in modern day culture?  Skip the sitcoms this week and read through the book of Daniel.  Then go to XXXchurch.com and read its story.  See if you draw the same conclusion I did – that XXXchurch.com is God retelling a timeless story in modern times.  And if you’re so compelled to join us in “the king’s court”, we’ll be here with X3 paraphernalia, and a beating heart for the lost and broken souls of “the  establishment”.

Prayerfully Yours,
